Local fans still have hope that their team will stay in their city.
The Oakland City Council has extended the planning period for the proposed Coliseum City sports and entertainment project an additional 12 months by a unanimous vote, as reported by csnbayarea.com.
The extension gives time to interested investors to evaluate the grand project that could include as many as three sports venues on the Oakland Coliseum complex site.
Fans came out to support the extension vote hoping the decision would eventually lead to the franchise staying in Oakland long-term, according to the same report.
The decision to extend the planning period came after Raiders owner Mark Davis was seen taking a tour of the old Concord Naval Weapons Station as a potential site to build a new stadium just last week, as reported by SFGate.com.
