The Warriors and Lakers traveled to China to play a pair of preseason games in Beijing and Shanghai this week.
The game started out like an All Star Game with a both teams getting buckets while playing little to no defense in the 1st quarter which is not the brand of basketball Mark Jackson wants to see from his club.
The game settled down and was a competitive back and forth contest for the majority of the game that even had a it’s share of technical fouls along with an ejection. Draymond Green hit the showers early with two techs while Andrew Bogut and the Lakers’ Nick Young had one apiece.
The Lakers finished the 3rd quarter up 80-69 and looked to be in control of the game. Stephen Curry and the Warriors decided that they wanted to head to Shanghai with a win and turned it up in the 4th quarter. The Warriors went on a run to to grab an 87-84 lead with six minutes left in the 4th and never looked back as they went on to outscore the Lakers 31-15 in the 4th to win 100-95.
Mark Jackson showed some of his cards as he went with his starters for the majority of the 4th quarter and was even making defense for offense substitutions in the final possessions of the game with Bogut and Kent Bazemore.
David Lee and Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 31 and 24 respectively while Young led the Lakers with and an efficient 18 shooting 7/10 from the field and 3/4 from distance.
As it did today, the rematch in Shanghai will tip off at 4:30 AM (PST) on Fri Oct. 18.
