It’s here Raider Nation, we will finally get to see what our new quarterback Terrelle Pryor is made of tonight against the Denver Broncos. In front of millions of fans across the globe, Terrelle Pryor will be making his first Monday night football start. Not only will Pryor be playing in front of a hostile Denver crowd but he will be facing arguably the greatest quarterback to have ever played the game Peyton Manning. If Pryor can lead the Oakland Raiders to a victory tonight, he will help solidify himself as the future of the Oakland Raiders.
Fortunately, Pryor will not have to throw the ball all around the field to lead the Raiders to victory. In order for the Raiders to have a shot at shocking the Broncos, Pryor must stick to the Raiders offensive system by completing short throws and breaking long runs. The Raiders would be heading into tonight’s match up as a 2-0 team if it weren’t for Pryor’s two errant interception throws in the Red Zone against the Colts.
With Von Miller out and Champ Bailey still dealing with nagging injuries, there has never been a better time for Terrelle Pryor to show what he is made of against the Broncos. You will not find any NFL analysts who will give the Raiders much of a shot tonight but there is hope. The high altitude might actually play in the Raiders favor because of their play style and the presence of Pryor. If the Raiders can keep the game close into the second half, Pryor will have a field day running away from exhausted Broncos defenders.
Terrelle Pryor must put up a similar performance to his week one game against the Colts for the Raiders to have any chance. Pryor can’t commit any errant throws and must get the ball into his receivers’ hands. If Pryor can have over 100 yards rushing and 200 yards passing don’t be surprised if the Raiders have a real shot of stealing a game in Denver.
